Chickasaw County supervisors accepted bids Thursday from contractors for a 300 bed new jail that will be located near the current jail, according to a report on WTVA.com.

The facility will house state inmates. According to officials the jail will provide between 50 and 60 jobs.

WTVA.com reports supervisors will consider the construction offers and reveal their pick during their next meeting Tuesday, December 23 at 10 a.m. at the Chickasaw County Courthouse in Houston.
