Early Deadlines and Holiday Hours

The Chickasaw Journal will close at noon on Dec. 24 for Christmas and will reopen on Dec. 26 at 8 a.m. The office will also be closed Jan. 1 for New Year's Day and will reopen Jan. 2 at 8 a.m.

Classified advertising for the Dec. 31 newspaper will deadline on Dec. 24 at noon. Retail advertising for the Dec. 31 newspaper will deadline on Dec. 26 at 3:30.

Classified advertising for the Jan. 7 newspaper will deadline on Dec. 31 at 4 p.m. Retail advertising for the Jan. 7 newspaper will deadline on Jan. 2 at 3:30 p.m.

New Year celebration at Crossroads

Crossroads Youth Center in Houlka will be open Dec. 31 to celebrate New Year from 5 p.m. until midnight. A live Christian rock band will entertain and a guest speaker will bring the message. Fireworks and door prizes will be on hand and concessions are available. For information, call 568-2403.

Lighting contest in Okolona

Get those Christmas Lights out and decorate your yard and home, because the Okolona Christmas Lighting contest is set for December 18th. This contest is hosted by the GFWC-MFWC Lanier club and the GFWC-MFWC 20th Century club and sponsored by the City of Okolona.

Personalized trees still available

Christmas trees lining the Houston Courthouse Square are still available for purchase from the Main Street Association. A $50 fee will purchase the tree with name and/or logo. Contact Joyce East at 456-2321 for information.
