Project Noel

- Adoption of children through Project Noel is currently underway. Children available for adoption will range between the ages of two and twelve years of age.

Food boxes for persons over 62 years of age will be purchased and delivered by Project Noel members from monetary donations received. Tax deductible donations may be mailed to Barbara Klauser, 219 CR 94, Houston, MS 38851.

Friday, Nov. 14, is the last day to apply for assistance through the program. Go to the Salvation Army building on West Washington Street in Houston.

Kid's Park closed

- The Houston Kid's Park will be closed the month of November for repair and maintenance. Residents are asked to please not use the park as chemicals and machinery will be on site.

Community Thanksgiving

- The annual community Thanksgiving service will be held November 24, at First United Methodist Church in Houston. 7 p.m. service will be conducted by Bro. Phillip Dearman. All are invited to attend.

Distance Learning available

- Jackson State University offers distance learning via satellite through Houlka Attendance Center and will hold registration on Friday, Dec. 5 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

JSU will offer undergraduate courses in Early Elementary Education via distance learning at the school.

Interested persons should bring: high school/college transcript - with seal, vaccination records, driver's license, social security card and birth certificate
