CUMBERLAND - East Webster stumbled in a pair of non-region games against Coffeeville and West Oktibbeha last week.
The Lady Wolverines saw Coffeeville sneak out to a 7-6 lead in the first quarter before the Lady Pirated exploded for 21 points in the second quarter while holding East Webster to 5 total points to take a 28-11 lead at the break.
East Webster rallied in the to outscore the Lady Pirates 16-8 to trim the lead to 36-27 heading into the fourth quarter, but Coffeeville found their rhythm on offense once again to post 27 points in the final frame to pull away for the 63-37 victory.
The Lady Wolverines dropped a 56-24 decision to West Oktibbeha on this past Thursday.
The Wolverines also saw a pair a big quarter from the Coffeeville help lift the Pirates to a 68-63 victory on Saturday.
Coffeeville jumped out to a 22-14 lead in the opening stanza before East Webster rallied in the second to outscore the Pirates 16-10 to trim the lead to 32-30 by halftime. The Wolverines came out firing on all cylinders in the third quarter to outscore Coffeeville 20-9 to take a 50-41 lead by the end of the third quarter. The Pirates countered by outscoring the Wolverines 27-10 in the final frame to pull away for the 63-37 victory.
The Wolverines dropped a 77-67 non-region decision to West Oktibbeha on Thursday.
East Webster will hit the road to take on the Calhoun City Lady Wildcats and Wildcats in region play on Friday and will return home next Tuesday against in-county rival Eupora on Tuesday.
