Cattlemen's meeting

n Chickasaw County Cattlemen Assn. will hold the fall meeting on Oct. 23 at Rockwell Auditorium in Okolona at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. John Anderson of MSU who will discuss marketing cattle in today's economy. All members and future members invited. RVSP to 456-4269.

Team Hope Houston

n Team Hope Houston will be honored with a send off this Thursday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. on the East side of the Houston Courthouse Square. The team will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk to fight cancer.

In case of inclement weather, the send off will be held in the HLES gymnasium. All are invited to attend.

Veteran's Day programs set

n Veteran's day is Nov. 11 and organizers are planning services to honor the men and women who served their country in military service.

Houston High School will hold a Veteran's Day service on Nov. 11 at 10:45 a.m. with a guest speaker and patriotic music performed by students and the Topper Pride band. Members of the HHS student government and FCA will assist veterans and host the program. The service will be held in the gymnasium with special seating for veterans.

A parade will be held in Okolona on Nov. 11 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Veterans are invited to walk or ride the parade route and will be accompanied by OHS students. For information, call Alvin Thomas at 447-5922.

Houlka will host a veteran's parade at 10 a.m. followed by a lunch in the Historic School. Veterans will meet at the Central Office building (Historic School) at 10 a.m. and will be served lunch at the site following the parade. For information, call Dr. Betsy Collums at 568-2704.

All veterans are invited and encouraged to participate in an available program held in their honor.
