PACE grant cycle
opening March 30
n PACE 2009 grant cycle will run from March 30 - June 15, 2009. Any non-profit organization is invited to apply for a grant. Applications can be picked up after March 30 at the Byrne CPA Firm in Houston or by calling Hope Stantz at 447-0157.
CDF banquet set
for March 26
n The annual Chickasaw Development Foundation banquet is set for Thursday, March 26 and will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Parish Center on North Jackson Street.
Keynote speaker for the banquet will be Brandon E. Presley, Northern District Public Service Commissioner. A native of Amory, Presley is a former Mayor of Nettleton and was appointed the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners to serve as a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on National Wireless Consumer Affairs and Protection Standards. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Itawamba Community College and is a member of the Board of Directors of Gilmore Hospital and has served as President of the North Mississippi Mayor's Association.
All CDF members are urged to attend the banquet. Two members, Tom Byrne and Don McCarver will rotate off the board and two members, Steve Eaton and Henry Vaughan, will be up for re-election.
Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased at the CDF.
BGC Open House,
March 27
n The Houston Boys and Girls Club will hold Open House this Friday, March 27 from 7-8 p.m.
The public is invited in to tour the facility and meet club members.
Light refreshments will be served and $1 raffle tickets will be available for prizes. The facility is located at 125 Malcomb Street in Houston in the old Houston Building Supply.
