HOUSTON - County Music Television's hottest new show, "My Big Redneck Wedding," is coming to town as film crews are busy setting up for a big day this Saturday.

Leigh Ann and Butch Stevens of Houston will renew their vows before the cameras at Stinkin' Jim's Horse Camp east of Houston at 11 a.m. and chances are the reception will be slightly out of the ordinary.

"It's a lot of fun," said mother of the bride, Donna Schomberg. "They're going to have an armadillo cake and a mule pull and lots of games."

The cable network program contacted Schomburg after seeing her camp featured on Best of America by Horseback and her daughter took the opportunity to renew her vows in a big way. The crew has been in town and in the area all week, visiting with locals and capturing highlights of the festivities.

"For the Bachelor party, they're going coon hunting with Eddie Bynum," Schomberg said. "And the girls went out wedding dress buying. They ended up with a dress from the Salvation Army in Tupelo. It was so funny."

The culmination of the filming will be Saturday morning at 11 a.m. as the vows are recited and the reception begins. The program, hosted by Tom Arnold, will be broadcast on CMT at a later date.

"They will contact us and let us know when it will be on," Schomberg said. "They called us about it because they'd never had one in Mississippi and now they say it's the best one they've had of 16 shows."

Schomberg and family have given the crew members a grand tour of Chickasaw County and the surrounding areas in hopes of raising awareness of educational and promotional programs offered. Schomberg facilitates the COPES program for at-risk children and youth through the Exchange club and is a board member of the new Boys and Girls club. She said she hoped that the exposure the show will bring to the community will also bring a new awareness of the work being done to encourage and support local youth.

Friends, family and those generally interested in a down-home, redneck wedding are invited out to the camp for the nuptials. The horse camp is located off of old Hwy. 8 and has directional signs.
