CHICKASAW COUNTY – The Chickasaw County Health Department will hold a special seasonal flu clinic on Friday mornings from 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Houston Health Department starting November 6. They will be offering seasonal flu vaccines daily on a walk-in basis.

The Okolona Health Department will be giving flu shots on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays on a walk-in basic. During this time, health department staff will focus solely on providing seasonal flu vaccinations so that all residents can complete the process quickly and efficiently.

Seasonal flu vaccinations for adults are $25. Those 18 and under can receive seasonal flu vaccinations for $10. Medicare and Medicaid recipients are asked to bring their cards with them to the clinic. Pneumonia vaccinations will also be available at a cost of $48 for adults and $10 for children.

Residents may also obtain seasonal and swine flu vaccinations from private providers and some retail pharmacies.

Vaccines for swine flu are not currently available at the county Health Departments. Information about their availability will be posted.
